TRANSIT AND CUSTOMS AGENT / DECLARANT PRINCIPAL EN DOUANE-TRANSIT

Main Tasks:

• Carry out the customs, tax and administrative formalities required to ensure the proper movement of goods in transit, export and import.
• Manage cases of seizure of goods to be exported or imported, on the CAMCIS and single window (Guichet Unique) platforms.
• Manage the filing of the customs documentation
• Carry out the required documentary checks in accordance with the regulations on international transit
• Ensure that goods in transit are in conformity with the regulations in force.
• Create codes and calculate the exact CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) price in order to determine the amount of duties and taxes to be paid for import and export
• Intervene with the various customs administrations to manage and resolve customs disputes.
• Handle insurance contracts, export health certificates or other certificates, depending on the nature of the goods.
• Ensure the constant updating of information concerning the progress of files and inform the hierarchy of possible incidents (delay, blockage...) in the procedures
• Stay up to date on customs regulations.
• Carry out training sessions with other team members on custom procedures

KEY SKILLS

• Thorough understanding of the law, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, political processes and agency rules.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, as you will be required to compile documentation and be able to interpret the law on behalf of clients in a clear and straightforward manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills because the job entails dealing with different institutions on a daily basis.
• Complex problem solving and the ability to engage in critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to actively listen and interpret in a concise manner.
• Although you will be working as part of a team, you must be self-motivated and able to organize your work effectively and keep records.
• You must be able to use computer programs such as WORD, Excel and other standard transit software. Required profile  At least 3 years of professional experience in the customs/transit sector
• Holder of a CAMCIS diploma
• University degree+ years of work experience in logistics and transport and with a certificate of completion of training in customs transit
• Have a sense of rigor and organization
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to work in an organized manner
• Be perfectly bilingual
